December 2024 Update
Holiday Party – Christmas Eve, 5 pm: Our neighbors in #10, Jane Manning and John Hornyak, invite you – their neighbors and up to two guests – to bring heavy hors d’oeuvres or dessert to share and a beverage of your choice. Please RSVP to Jane at 770-815-6992.
Southeast Stairs Closed: Because of safety and liability concerns, we closed the southeast stairs (between 38 and 40) and put up “CAUTION” tape as a reminder. However, someone keeps taking down the tape, which exposes us to another terrible increase in insurance costs. To protect the community, the board is expediting the installation of more robust barriers to using the stairs. (We hope to have a more attractive solution next year.)
North Retaining Wall Contract: We expect work to begin in early January. We signed the proposal and are now working on the permit.
North Fence: We accepted the ARC’s recommendation to replace the existing metal fence with an 8’ solid PVC fence, and signed Marietta Fence’s proposal. After we finish the new north retaining wall, we’ll have the new fence installed.
Unneighborly Dog Owners: The board voted to install cameras at unit 64 to monitor the use of that area as a dog latrine, and to impose a $100 fine (for the first offense) for failure to clean up.
Annual Meeting reminder: Monday, December 16, 6:00 pm, at the nearby Switzer public library. You should already have received a link to the invitation.
